Be Prepared for Your Next Fire Inspection
Business Pre-Inspection Checklist
Based on the 2024 International Fire Code (IFC). Last reviewed October 8, 2026.

The City of Cockrell Hill adopted the 2024 International Fire Code (IFC) in May 2026. This checklist covers the problems we find most often during business fire inspections. Walk through it before your inspection and fix what you can. You will have a smoother inspection and, more importantly, a safer place for your employees and customers.
The numbers in parentheses point to the section of the 2024 IFC (or the national standard it relies on) that applies to each item.
